The Star is a card of hope, signifying auspicious prospects and beneficent deeds. It represents a reason to feel like everything is going to turn out fine, or even superb, especially at the end of a trial or period of hardship. Such a reason usually takes the form of knowledge, knowledge of something altogether good, hence The Star resides in the realm of Air.

Reversed

    • A reprieve, but not something that can help one rest at ease indefinitely.
    • Letting a small commitment or opportunity slip.
    • Offering help, but not the help that people really need.
    • Brushing off, or not accepting, offered help as it is not what is truly needed.

The energy of The Star is freeing, illuminating, inspiring, and can move one to be at ease, to love, and to embrace life. In the reversed position, the energy of The Star is likely not blocked entirely, though it is definitely dimmed. The Star Reversed signifies a beacon, though not one which indicates an end to troubles. It may be a brief reprieve, or a small insight, enough to provide welcome comfort or understanding, but likely not enough to provide great inspiration or lasting hope.

This card could represent running out of time to take advantage of an opportunity, or letting a commitment slip. However, such a commitment or opportunity may not be a very big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Likewise, this card could be denial, or brushing off, of help which is not the help which is not what is truly needed.
